Sr. Jane has been a member of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood, an international missionary congregation for over 40 years.
The Congregation’s Franciscan Mission is one of presence and to serve wherever the need is at the time. FMDM Sisters express their charism through health care, education, pastoral ministries, spiritual formation, outreach to the poor and a variety of justice and peace ministries.
Traditionally focused on healthcare, especially midwifery , the FMDM Congregation have over the years also become involved in education, spiritual direction, parish work, migrant/refugee work, special needs and justice and peace ministries. They respond to where an urgent need is felt.
As part of her ministry Sr. Jane has been closely involved in policy development and formation of Church members for safeguarding of minors for twenty years in Australia and England/Wales. She served as vice-Chair (representing Religious Life) of the National Catholic Safeguarding Commission in England/Wales for from 2007-2013. She currently serves as the religious representative on the Southwark Archdiocesan Safeguarding Commission in London.
In 2018, Pope Francis appointed Sr. Jane member of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors.
