Survivor of child sexual abuse. Founder of the National Association for People Abused in Childhood (NAPAC).
Peter was born and brought up in Wimbledon, South West London. Abused throughout his childhood he left school with few qualifications but eventually returned to Higher Education where he obtained a Business Studies degree then trained as a teacher.
After 12 years teaching Peter’s difficult past caught up with him and he realized he had to confront the issues he had kept buried for so long. He quickly discovered he was one of millions who had suffered abuse in childhood and because he could not find any appropriate support for himself he decided to set up NAPAC, the National Association for People Abused in Childhood. NAPAC is now the UK’s leading charity supporting people who suffered any form of abuse in childhood. Peter recently stepped down as CEO of NAPAC, but remains as founder and spokesperson.
He is married to Tricia and they have 5 children between them. Peter is currently on a leave of absence from the Commission.
